Week 10

This has been one of our slower weeks, where not much has happened, but we know this is in preparation for our upcoming drywall.

Day 64 (10.07.10)- We had our pre-drywall meeting with our P, Travis, where we went over all of our specs and confirmed that everything was in the right place. We had no major issues, with the exception of our plumbing in Bath 2 still not being changed. He re-assured us that it would be fixed before the end of this week, being that drywall is supposed to start on Friday. Our PM realized that we were missing an outlet needed for all of our guardian goodies that are in a box in the master closet so he is going to have the electrician back out to add that along with an outlet for TV wall mount in our bedroom. We came armed with plenty of Sharpie's so that when it was over we could add our prayers/blessings onto the studs of our home. Shout out to Stacey over at Savoy-r-ing The Moment for the great idea. Later that evening all of the insulation had been added along with the rounded corners for the entryway to the den.

Day 65-  Nothing happened

Day 66- Deadwood was added- so that the TV can safely be mounted to the wall.City and private inspector came out for insulation inspection, and it passed. Hopefully they will start drywall tomorrow, and the masonry's will be beginning our brick early next week.

We added an "In Memory " stud

Rounded corners for our den/office

It already feels a little toasty with all this insulation

Living Room wall mount and conduit

Master bedroom mount and conduit. PM is going to have someone add more supports to the bottom since the gaps are currently to large.

The best of it all is that our closing date has been set for November 25th!!!! Our PM states that next week they may change this to a week earlier, because he thinks our home will be complete by this time next month. I don't want to get emotionally attached to the thought of closing early until we know for sure, but the 25th sounds great.

Week 7

So much has happened since the last time I've blogged. Our home looks like an actual home and has siding, an almost finished back patio, our back door, plumbing and A/C ducts.

Day 46 (09.19.13)

We went to visit the house and all of the plumbing was complete and the A/C guys were working on installing the duct work. As we walked out the PM told us that the electrician should be coming in the following day if all works out to start with all the electrical stuff. We noticed that the garage and living room were full of drywall, so hopefully the insulation will be arriving soon and then drywall!

We also got the official notification that our house is ours. Yes that is right our application made it through the final stages of loan approval. They set our closing date for November 28th, but that is Thanksgiving so I am pretty sure that is going to change. We are pushing for them to close on November 25th so wish us luck on trying to make that happen.

Weeks 5 and 6

Hey People!

Week 5:

So nothing exciting really happened, except for our final inspection of the foundation and delivery of our framing. Our PM called closer towards the end of the week to inform us that the framing would start the following week being that they were waiting for the remaining of the framing package to arrive. So hopefully from this point everything will be smooth sailing. One great thing is we've had the opportunity of meeting 3 of our neighbors. So far they all seem really nice, and the community appears to have a good mixture of people. For the most part I only do drive by visits since I work evenings, and I only get out and look around on my Sunday morning visits with hubby. Sunday is the only day when there are not a ton of construction vehicles around, and I take it others have figured that out too. Hopefully this upcoming Sunday we will meet more neighbors!

Week 6:

09/10/13=Day 37 Today we went by this morning to see if they started the framing and were so surprised to see the entire 1st floor complete. We actually went yesterday morning as well, but nothing was happening. We're not sure if maybe they started the framing late yesterday evening or this morning. I was so excited to see this happening I wanted to stay for 5 minutes and watch, but hubby thought we may have been distracting them since they began to watch us watching them. After taking the below picture they  quickly added 2 additional panes on the side where the guys are standing.  I can see how hard it is going to be for me to stay away now that this is happening. It also doesn't help that our apartment is about 10 minutes away.
Framing Has Begun! This was taken around 10 am.

This is what it looked like at about 1:30 pm. I just had to stop by on my way to work ;)

I am pretty sure I will be back sooner than later and have more pictures to share!

Until next time,
